- Prescriptive Specifications – Prescriptive specification refers to the detailed plan on what materials should be used for the project and how they should be installed. Generally, this kind of construction specification is made by architects and engineers because of their mastery on materials and how to properly install them. This type of specification contains a detailed view of the products needed for the task, design requirements, quality standards, handling, preparation and installation of the materials. After all the steps, the contractor is also required to test the quality to see if it is working fine according to plan.
